Adobe After Effects

Digital Animation Software

Why animate? Because when even still images and titles move across the screen to music, they literally jump off of the screen. After Effects allows you to combine animated stills and moving pictures for a dazzling effect we've used in making music videos and presentations.

The heart of editing in After Effects lies in assigning keyframe reference points (the diamonds above) for everything from scale to position, rotation, and opacity (how much you can see through the image) and letting the computer figure out how to interpolate between keyframes.

One of the best aspects of working in After Effects is the ability to preview a real time RAM preview of sections of your project, without having to wait on your computer to render the entire project (some of our 4 minute projects take 40 minutes to render).
You begin projects much as you do in Premiere, collecting images, video clips, and titles (executed in Illustrator). Then you simply drag the ones you want to use into the "comp" timeline.
