[122] After her husband, Edward Lewis Hyland, died, Annie Lois and daughter Margaret Hyland Jones purchased an organ in his memory for Trinity Methodist Church (her church growing up). The organ which was dedicated on October 7, 1941 and was used until about a decade ago (approximately 1988) after a joint service was held at Trinity with a nearby black Methodist congregation. The guest organist played the old organ for all it was worth (and then some) after which it never played the same so it was replaced by Gene Davis of Music and Electronics Inc of Charlotte.

Annie Lois King and Edward Lewis Hyland were married in the parlor of
Edward's home at 1000 N. Davidson St. (Ed Hyland has a picture of the occasion which shows neither of the couple smiling!)
