From Mecklenburg Co., NC Will Book I, Page 102 (Date 1847)
I George King of the County of Mecklenburg and State of N.C. of sound mind and memory do make and declare this my last will and Testament in the following form:
First I give and devise the tract of land on which I now live to my three children Margaret, William Julius, & John, to be equally divided between them except one half of the gold mining interest which I give and devise to William J. King my 2d child. And whereas my two youngest sons are minors Now therefore my will and desire is that my brother Colin C. King is hereby appointed Guardian of these my two children.
Item 2d- And the balance of my property to be sold and the money equally divided among my three children.
And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint Collin C. King & Stephen Wilson my executors to all intents and purposes to execute this last will and testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same.

I John I. King of Mecklenburg County and State of North Carolina Will and
bequeath at my death, to my Mother Synthia D King my Plantation, known as the Ferril place during her natural life, and at her death I will and bequeath said plantation to my brother William J A King and Pinkney A King, and to their heirs and assigns forever.
I will and bequeath my sorrel mare to my brother, Geo W King. I also will my shot gun to my brother Collin C King Jr, and I will my Rifle Gun to my
brother Geo W King.
And what remains of my property after my debts are paid I will and bequeath to my brother William J A King and Pinkney A King. Further I appoint my father C C King Sr the executor of this my last will and testament.
Witness my hand and seal this 23 day of February 1857
